MEET THE TEACHERS

ANDRÉS TORCA

SPANISH TEACHER AND IT FOCAL POINT

Hola a tod@s,

Soy Andres. I am from Burgos, a quiet but beautiful city in Spain.

I would like to thank all the students (former, current and future ones) for allowing me to share this incredible language with them. Its cultural richness, traditions, music, and more. With a parallel background as an artist, photographer, curator and graphic designer, I have been teaching Spanish for almost two decades. I enjoy outdoor activities such as biking and climbing but mainly I love to explore, nature, urban areas, people, food, languages… Let

´s explore Spanish together.

Gracias.

Hasta pronto.

BEATRIZ FRANCO

¡Hola!

I am Beatriz. Originally from Cuba, I am also a Spanish citizen, as I have lived in Spain since I was a child.

I started working with the UNON Language Programme as an intern in Nairobi, and now I am happy to be part of the teachers’ team.

I hold a BA in Translation and Interpretation by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (Instituto Cervantes and UIMP) and an MA in Linguistics (Purdue University). I have taught Spanish in the United States, Kenya and France.

I love sharing my language and culture with students from all over the world, travelling, discovering new places and multicultural environments. Right now I am based in Bordeaux, France, where also I teach at the University and at the Instituto Cervantes.
