Once filled, registration forms should be submitted by e-mail to UNON Language Programme (unon-hrms-languageprogramme@un.org) or Emily Wanja (emily.wanja@un.org) & Mahamadou Diallo (mahamadou.diallo@un.org). Incomplete registration forms will not be processed.

Registration Confirmation

Registration forms are processed on a first-come, first-served basis as space in the Language Programme is limited. Once a course is full, subsequent registrants are placed on a waiting list. If a space becomes available within the first week of the term, the students on the waiting list may be contacted. A minimum of six students must register to enable the formation of a class. All registrants will be notified of their registration by 12th April 2026.

Payment of Fees

For UN organization sponsored registrants

All staff members who wish to register for language and communication training must:

  1. Complete the appropriate language registration form and obtain approval from their Supervisor and certification of fund allocation from a certifying officer (account and signature) or attach a payment guarantee such as a Purchase Order for non-UN Secretariat entities.
  2. Submit your registration no later than 12th April 2026.

UN organizations will be billed during the first week of the term for all registered students.

Staff Members sponsored by a UN organization will not be permitted to repeat a course unless they register as self-paying participants. Fee paying participants can repeat a course only once at any level.

For self-paying registrants

  1. Submit your registrations no later than 12th April 2026.
  2. Incomplete registration forms will not be processed.
  3. Make the payment once they receive the email confirming their registration (five working days prior to first class).

Payment can be made through EFT.

The payment details will be communicated once a class is confirmed.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Payment of the course fee is due within 5 working days following TDU/UNON confirmation of your seat/participation in the course, unless instructed otherwise in the course registration instructions/advert.

Your registration form is considered your confirmation to be interested and available to attend a course offered by TDU/UNON.

No refunds (in full or partial) will be issued for cancellations/no shows after having issued confirmation of your seat/participation in a course.

Exceptions to these terms and conditions only apply in cases of certified sick leave or family emergency.

All course cancellations must be received in writing and addressed to the Talent Development Unit within 3 working days following a no show to the course. Proof of the certified sick leave/family emergency leave in the appropriate administrative system (Umoja) needs to be attached, no doctor’s notes please.

If possible, a new course date will be identified for you.

Note that for cancellation on any other reasons – exigencies of service – the full course fee is payable.

Submission of a completed registration form confirms agreement with the terms and conditions as explained here.

Cancellations or withdrawals from a language course are required in writing to the Language Programme Coordinator no later than 12th April 2026. No refunds will be issued for cancellations/no-shows after this date.

Attendance

Students with less than 75% attendance rate may not be allowed to sit for the final examination at the end of each term unless the language teacher so authorizes and will be considered as “repeaters” unless the absence was due to sick leave or official mission.

The language teacher must be informed of all absences, including the reason for the absence (i.e. illness, mission, or occasional pressure of work).

Students who withdraw from courses for one term or more will have to take a placement test to be readmitted to the Programme.
